The 3-Second Hack to Fix Loose Glasses (That Actually Works)

Here is why it works: clear nail polish acts as a mild, flexible thread-locker. It’s essentially a very weak glue. It is strong enough to keep the tiny screw from vibrating loose through daily wear and tear, but weak enough that if you do ever need to legitimately unscrew it in the future, you can easily break the seal with a little pressure from a small screwdriver.

How to Do It:

1. Tighten the Screw: First, get the screw as tight as you can. If you don't have a mini screwdriver, the edge of a butter knife or even a thick thumbnail can sometimes do the trick in a pinch.
2. Apply the Polish: Take a bottle of clear nail polish. You don't need a fancy brand; the cheapest one from the drugstore works perfectly. Wipe the brush on the rim of the bottle so there is barely any polish left on it.
3. Dab the Hinge: Gently dab the top of the screw head and the immediate surrounding hinge area with the brush. You only need a tiny drop.
4. Let it Dry: Leave your glasses open on the table and let the polish dry completely. This usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

Once it's dry, the polish is completely invisible.
