What Actually is Li-Fi?

The Setup Process: Literally Changing a Lightbulb

- The "Lights On" Requirement: Yes, to use the internet, the lights have to be "on." Will Li-Fi Replace Wi-Fi?
After a week of living under the data-beaming LEDs, my verdict is this: Li-Fi won't replace Wi-Fi, but it is an incredible complement to it.
For devices that stay put—desktop PCs, smart TVs, gaming consoles—Li-Fi offers a significantly faster, more secure, and interference-free connection. It frees up the crowded Wi-Fi spectrum for the devices that actually need to move around, like your phone or smart watch.
If you are frustrated by dead zones and lag in a crowded apartment building, Li-Fi is no longer just a sci-fi concept.
